Comparison of Hinduism and Buddhism in Nepal:

Hinduism and Buddhism as practiced in Nepal are not two distinct religions. Differences in philosophy and doctrines as exist in two religions are modified by faiths, common origin and sharing numerous features for more than two millennia in which they have evolved together.


Hinduism

Hindus believe in supreme being.

Buddhists believe that man fate is decided by man himself.

Hindus believe that this world has evolved by various incarnations of lord Visnu, one of the Hindu trinity.

Buddhist in general do not believe in soul, a belief which comes from a belief of a permanent entity.

Soul is successively reborn in an earthly form.

Buddhist believe that the soul exists. Also they believe in an individual consists of mind and body.

Hindus believes in several paths to achieve in salvation but the principle one is faith or devotion.

Buddhists also believe in several paths but in general mainly emphasizes the four noble truths and noble eight fold path.

Dharma refers to the religious laws which are followed to keep the world in harmony with eternal and moral laws.

Dharma is the teachings or the Buddha which are compiled as Buddhist canon.
