Everest panorama treks tarts after you board a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and trekking to Namche bazar and ends at Tengboche (3867m). Everest trek can be less than 10 to twelve days and although the trek is short it is more enjoyable then the longer ones.

Mount Everest stands at a height of 8848 meters (29,029 feet) as the highest peak on earth above sea level. This peak is in Mahalangur range of the Himalayas. Its neighboring peaks are Lhotse 8516 meters (2740 feet); Nuptse7855 meters (25771 feet) and Changtse 7580 meters (24870 feet). Climbing Everest and setting world records have become like passion after the successful ascend to the top of the world by Tenjing Norgay and Edmund Hillary on 29 May 1953. Different climbers have lost their lives while trying to climb this mighty peak; the most number of deaths were recorded in the year 1996 when 15 climbers died the same year, although; the adventure have not stopped, and people are still fighting for new record attempts till now. The sparkling beauty of Everest Panorama attracts lots of tourists yearly to this region. The diversified geographical charm present here can create a best experience for the trekkers and expeditors. There are basically two ridges for beginning of the expedition of Everest. Southeast ridge in Nepal and North ridge from Tibet and many other different ridges and points for climbing which are not frequently used. However, South East Ridge is the easiest and the most frequently used route from where the first ascent by Tenjing and Hillary was completed successful.

Everest panorama trek is short trekking in Everest for those who are limited by time to walk all the way to Everest Base Camp but want to see the majestic mountain and experience the Sherpa culture. It is an easy and short trek which takes you up to Tengboche Monastery (3850m). This trek offers magnificent view of the Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Amadablam and other many snowy peaks.

We fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek up to Namche Bazaar, Tengboche. This trek gives you knowledge on Sherpa community and tradition. Sherpa village Khumjung will be visited to know their customs and lifestyle.

Day 1
Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Our airport representative will welcome you and explain the program further. There are no planned activities for the day, so check into the hotel. Enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2
Trek preparation and Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour

Sightseeing of World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley including: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Pasupatinath Temple. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included. (or skip this and fly to Lukla)

Day 3
Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2652m) Duration: 3 hours

In and around Lukla Early morning transfer to the airport for Lukla flight. The flight to Lukla is a lifetime experience. The airfield is at high evaluation (2845m) and the difference between the two ends of the runway is about an exceptional 527 meters only. Trek to Phakding with an arresting, green landscape with the view of Kusum Kangraru. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 4
Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m) Duration: 6 hours

In and around Namche, We follow the Dudh Koshi, ascending through Himalayan pine and cedar forests, to the celebrated village of Namche Bazaar. The village of Namche is a historic trading post where Nepalese and Tibetan traders exchange salt, dried meat and textiles. Besides being a splendid destination to shop for traditional crafts, Namche remains the central trading post in the Khumbu that attracts Himalayan and lowland merchants. You will spend two days at Namche for acclimatization, visit local markets and spend time with your team. On the hike we capture our first glimpses of Everest and neighboring peaks. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 5
Namche Bazar - Everest View Hotel - Return

This is a day for acclimatization; we will hike to Syangboche Airport (3700m), the supposed to the highest airport in the world. Then continue climbing to Everest View Hotel for great panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, Tawache etc. On the way back, visit Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 6
Trek to Tengboche (3860m/12660ft) Duration: 5 hours

In and around Tengboche. The flat and easy trail leads towards the view of Mt. Everest, then descends deep into the Dudh Koshi Valley at Pungki Thanka; from here it ascends the right flank of the Dudh Koshi valley to Tengboche Monastery (3860m). It is the spiritual center of the Khumbu; the climb is long, but more than adequately compensated by views of Mt. Amadablam and on a clear day, views of Mt. Everest and its surrounding peaks. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 7
Trek to Namche (3440m) via Khumjung village (3700m) Duration: 6 hours

In and around Khumjung. Descend Pungki Thanka and complete steep to Khumjung village where we visit Hilary School and Khumjung monastery then easy trek down to Namche. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 8
Trek to Lukla (2800m) Duration: 7 hours

The trek continues along the Dudh Koshi River to the small mountain airstrip at Lukla, where you will catch your return flight to Kathmandu. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 9
Fly back to Kathmandu

30-minutes amazing scenic fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 10
Farewell

Transfer to Airport (TIA) 2 hours before the scheduled flight for departure.

Frequently asked Questions

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, hot water facility could be free at lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during off season. It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.
